Enrollment Process
Solid Ground School offers a unique educational experience and is guided by a distinct educational philosophy. We want to ensure our school is right for your family.

Our goal with enrollment is to attract families that appreciate and support our approach to education, value outdoor engagement, and are committed to joining our school community. To help ensure a good fit for your family, our enrollment process begins with completing an application and attending a tour and family interview to learn more about the school and our unique approach.
Step 1: Attend a Free Open House on 3/19 or 4/3 at 5:00
Our small staff is often busy engaging directly with our students, so we only offer individual tours or interviews to those who have already completed an application. Please attend a free open house or take yourself on this self-guided tour of Solid Ground School in order to understand what it is we offer by looking through the following pages and watching the video to help you decide if you would like to apply. Our tuition rates are based on a sliding scale by income.
Step 2: Submit your application online.
Submit an application form with a non-refundable $60 application fee. When your application, fee, and income verification information have been submitted, your application will be considered complete. Your child will then be added to our pool of applicants and/or be placed on our waiting list.
We typically consider the first group of applications in late spring, so plan to apply by April 5 for priority consideration. Applications after the priority deadline are considered on an on-going basis as space allows.
Step 3: Attend a family interview and tour
After your application is complete, an interview and tour will be scheduled with our Director to give you a chance to ask any questions that you may have and to help us if Solid Ground School's education will be a good fit for your family. Returning families typically make re-enrollment decisions in early spring, after which time we know how many spots we have available for next school year.
Because children develop and change so much in a short time, we only schedule interviews during the enrollment period for the school year in which you are applying. If you have applied for a school year farther into the future, you can expect us to reach out when your child is closer to their age of admission--we want to meet them when they're ready for school!
Step 4 : Hear back with a final decision
Expect an invitation to join our school community or a letter of regret after we finish reviewing applications as a group in the spring. We give admission priority to children who are already attending school with us--so we won't know how many spots are available in each class until after our current families have a chance to decide whether they will return. Regardless of when you apply or tour, you can expect to wait until spring for a decision about whether we're able to accept your child.
Step 5: Pay your Deposit
Finalize your enrollment by paying a refundable deposit equal to one month’s tuition by the deadline. This payment will be applied to your child’s final monthly tuition payment.
